Culture part 1

It's been so fun learning and observing the cultural differences here- even little things that we take for granted like the way the light switches work or even how to flush the toilet are almost things you have to relearn. So here have been some of my observations :)

All the light switches are smooth squares, that you just push up or down to control the lights. There's a big one right above the toilet to control the flush too- very weird :) also, every toilet has a bidet appliance- like a little water squirter type thing... Again, very different haha :)
The light switch for the bathrooms is always outside the door, and the towel rack is inside the shower- not outside!

All the people here really really like blond, fair skinned girls- they've been waving at us and telling us we're 'handsome young ladies'. Which we've chosen to take as a compliment :)
There's a phone company here called TurkCell that seems to be the tmobile of turkey- there are signs everywhere with the little yellow antennae that apparently represents them.
There are a lot of American companies out here with big corporate buildings- and lots of McDonald's and Burger King!
